Creamy comforting cheesy bowl of potatoes – Simple and delicious!

5 medium sized potatoes – peeled and sliced
2 tbsp salted butter
Handful of spring onions and fresh basil leaves
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp black pepper
1/2 cup whole milk
1 cup heavy cream
1/2 cup / 4 cubes cheese (cheddar) – grated
1 head of garlic
Directions
- Heat butter in a pan and add in the fresh herbs. Sauté for a couple of minutes.
- Add in the milk and cream. Season with salt and pepper. Let this come to a steady boil.
- In a baking pan, spoon a thin layer of the cream mixture. Layer with sliced potatoes. Repeat this until the potatoes are complete.
- Finish with a layer of the grated cheese. Toss in the garlic pods with skin.
- Drizzle the olive oil and bake at 160°C for 40 minutes.
- Serve hot and enjoy!
