Three layers of bliss – Shortbread layered with a chocolate fudge finished off with salted caramel.
Chocolate Fudge Shortbread

Ingredients
- FOR THE SHORTBREAD
100 gms softened unsalted butter
3 tbsp powdered sugar
140 gms all purpose flour
1/2 tsp salt
- FOR THE CHOCOLATE FUDGE
100 gms dark chocolate semi-sweetened – chopped roughly
2 tbsp heavy cream
4 tbsp condensed milk
Directions
- Preheat the oven to 170 °C and line a baking dish with parchment paper and set aside.
- In a large bowl, whisk the butter and sugar until well combined.
- Add in the flour and salt. Fold it with a spatula until it forms a dough.
- Pat into an even layer and prick the top with a fork. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until slightly golden brown. Let it cool down after baking.
- For the fudge – Melt chocolate on a double boiler until completely melted. Add in the cream and condensed milk and stir well.
- Let the fudge mixture cool completely. This will start to thicken as its cooling.
- Lastly, pour over the fudge mixture over the cooled shortbread and set in the refrigerator for a couple of hours or overnight.
- Cut into squares and enjoy! You could also drizzle some salted caramel sauce on top.
