Ingredients

  • FOR THE SHORTBREAD
  • 100 gms softened unsalted butter

  • 3 tbsp powdered sugar

  • 140 gms all purpose flour

  • 1/2 tsp salt

  • FOR THE CHOCOLATE FUDGE
  • 100 gms dark chocolate semi-sweetened – chopped roughly

  • 2 tbsp heavy cream

  • 4 tbsp condensed milk

Directions

  • Preheat the oven to 170 °C and line a baking dish with parchment paper and set aside.
  • In a large bowl, whisk the butter and sugar until well combined.
  • Add in the flour and salt. Fold it with a spatula until it forms a dough.
  • Pat into an even layer and prick the top with a fork. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until slightly golden brown. Let it cool down after baking.
  • For the fudge – Melt chocolate on a double boiler until completely melted. Add in the cream and condensed milk and stir well.
  • Let the fudge mixture cool completely. This will start to thicken as its cooling.
  • Lastly, pour over the fudge mixture over the cooled shortbread and set in the refrigerator for a couple of hours or overnight.
  • Cut into squares and enjoy! You could also drizzle some salted caramel sauce on top.
