Aromatic and fragrant chilli basil rice – full of flavour!
Chilli Basil Fried Rice

4 dried red chillies
10 – 12 cloves of garlic – peeled and chopped
2 cups pre-boiled rice (leftover rice works best)
1/4 cup fresh basil leaves – chopped
2-3 fresh red chillies (for extra spice – optional)
3 tbsp soy sauce
1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp sugar
3 tbsp sesame oil/vegetable oil
Directions
- In a large pan, sir-fry the chopped basil, garlic and roughly chopped dried red chillies in 2 tbsp of oil for a 2-3 minutes.
- Add in the rice and remaining 1 tbsp of oil. Season with soy sauce, salt and sugar. Mix well until combined on low heat.
- Serve hot and enjoy!
Notes
- You could add in vegetables like mushroom, broccoli etc or even chicken.
