Popular Indian street snack – delicious steamed momos with chilli oil.

- FOR THE DOUGH
1 cup all purpose flour
75 ml water
1 tbsp vegetable oil
1/2 tsp salt
- VEGETABLE FILLING
2 tsp oil
1 tsp ginger garlic paste
2 green chillies – chopped finely
Half an onion – chopped finely
100 gms cabbage – chopped/shredded finely
Half a carrot – chopped finely
Spring onions for garnish
1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp soy sauce
Directions
- FOR THE DOUGH
- In a large bowl, add the flour, salt and oil. Mix well and rub the oil into the flour using your fingers. Gradually add in the water until the dough comes together.
- Flour your surface and knead the dough until well combined. The dough should be firm, not too soft. Cover and set aside to be used later.
- FOR THE FILLING
- Heat oil in a pan and add in the onions along with the ginger garlic paste and green chillies.
- Once the onions turn golden brown, add in the carrots and cabbage. Cook for 7-8 mins.
- Add the soy sauce and salt, mix well. Garnish with spring onions and let it cool completely.
- MAKING OF THE MOMO
- Boil 1 litre of water in a steamer and allow it to come to a rapid boil.
- Cut small pieces of dough (roughly 10 gms worth) and roll it to 8cm disks.
- Refer the picture below for folding of the momo.
- Place the momos in the steamer and steam for 15-20 mins.

Notes
- You can substitute the carrots and cabbage for mushroom/chicken.
